Bloomsburg Baseball Drops Pair on Sunday

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV--The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped a pair of games on Sunday losing to Columbia Union College, 3-2, and to Shepherd University, 5-1.

In the opener, the Huskies lost to Columbia Union with Rich Letts (Parkesburg/Octorara) going 2-4 to lead Bloomsburg. Kevin Ward (Upper Darby/Monsignor Bonner) had an RBI single scoring Tony Donofry (Newtown/Council Rock North) in the first, while Carlos Medina (Lititz/Manheim Twp) had an RBI ground out in the ninth.

In the second game, the Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the third when Chris Tressler (Lewistown/Lewistown), who had singled leading off the inning, scored on an error. Shepherd, though, came back with three runs in the home half of the third and added single runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

Bloomsburg, 2-6, will play a twinbilll at Belmont Abbey in North Carolina on Monday at 2 p.m.
